What is Palermo City Tax?

Palermo City Tax is to be paid by all guests and is applicable for stays up to a maximum of 5 consecutive nights and is to be settled by guests upon check-out.

City tax is €5 per person per night, children 12 years and below are exempt. City tax levies are subject to change without notice.



Does the hotel provide adaptors?

Yes, on request and subject to availability, please contact the Reception.


Is there an ATM machine at the hotel?

No, but it is in the immediate vicinity, please ask at Reception.


Does the hotel offer free Wi-Fi?

Yes, wireless Internet access is available in the rooms and public areas, and there is a business centre in the hotel lobby with an Internet-connected PC. For more information, please contact the Reception.



Is there a coffee machine in the room?

Due to the Italian law on Old Historical Palaces, we cannot have the coffee maker in the room but you can order your favorite coffee with Room Service.


Can I have an iron in the room?

Due to the Italian law on Old Historical Palaces, we cannot offer an iron in the room, however we offer a pressing service.



Does the hotel allow pets in the hotel?

We are delighted to welcome pets (one dog up to 6 kg per room) and provide a set of bowls for their comfort on request.

We kindly ask all dogs to be kept on a leash when outside the guestroom. Pets are not allowed in the hotel’s meeting rooms or restaurant and lounge areas. No charges are applied for pets; however, guests will be responsible for any damage caused by their pets to the hotel property.



Are museums, art exhibitions and local attractions open every day?

It is important to note that most regional museums in Palermo close on Mondays and opening hours may change without notice. Please ask our Concierge for more information.


Do I need to wear anything specific to visit churches?

Yes, during the summer months we kindly recommend to carry a shawl or scarf to possibly cover your shoulders, and avoid wearing shorts, as a sign of respect.



How can I get to the hotel from the airport?

Guests can reach the hotel by public transport or by private taxi. For more information, please contact the hotel by sending an email to concierge@hoteldespalmes.it


Do you offer a private transfer service?

Yes, we offer private transfers with assistance to be booked 24 hours in advance. The rate varies depending on the number of persons and pieces of luggage. If the cancellation request is made within 24 hours of the scheduled time of service, no penalty will be charged, otherwise 100% of the quoted rate will be charged. Can I pay for my stay in cash?

Yes, please also note that Italian anti-money laundering legislation as of 01/01/22 has established a limit on cash payments totalling EUR 4,999.99 or less (Italian citizens) EUR 15,000.00 (foreign citizens). It is also prohibited with several payments below the threshold that appear artificially fractionated (L.D. 21/11/07 no. 231, art. 49).


Would you change a €200 or €500 banknote for change?

Yes we may offer you change for these banknotes, subject to cash availability at the time of the request.


Can I pay for my stay in my own currency?

You can only pay for your stay in Euro.


Can I change my foreign currency at the hotel?

Yes, only US dollars and for amounts not exceeding $200, subject to cash availability at the time of request.


Do I have to do any check-out operations at the end of my stay?

All hotel guests are asked to hand over their room keys at the desk and complete the check-out and payment operations; please note that although they have provided their credit card details during the booking process as a guarantee, this operation does not allow us to make any charges.
